Sarah M. Sernell, CPA — Johnstown, PA — Kotzan CPA & Associates P.C.

Brenda A. Pawlowski, CPA, CFE

Born, raised and still a resident of Nicktown, Northern Cambria County, Brenda Pawlowski graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a minor in Mathematics. She began her career with a local public accounting firm in downtown Johnstown in 1991, and subsequently joined the firm of Dennis P. Kotzan, CPA in 1995. She developed extensive experience in government and non-profit accounting and auditing, auditing employee benefit plans, as well as taxation for individuals and businesses. Brenda remained with the firm for 8 years before departing for the healthcare industry. She served as the Finance Director for a local healthcare organization for 4 1/2 years. Brenda returned to public accounting and to the firm of Dennis Kotzan, CPA in October 2007, adding her knowledge of physician practices to her previous public accounting experience. On July 1, 2008, Brenda became a shareholder of the firm Kotzan CPA & Associates, P.C.


BRENDA IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF:

The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and is a former member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). She is a past president of the Central Chapter of the PICPA and a former member of both the executive committee of the Central Chapter and the PICPA council. She has served as a member of the Local Government Accounting and Auditing Committee, which includes the School District Sub-committee. She has previously been a speaker at the annual School District Conference.


BRENDA HAS BEEN AWARDED:

The Central Chapter’s Volunteer Service Award and has been recognized in the PICPA’s Women to Watch and 40 Under 40 Programs, as well as one of Pennsylvania Business Central’s Foremost Under 40 and Top 100 People of 2008.

Carolyn S. Musselman, CPA — Johnstown, PA — Kotzan CPA & Associates P.C.

Kimberly A. Dorchak, CPA, CGFM

A native of the Johnstown area, Kim graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business with concentrations in both Accounting and Finance. Following graduation, Kim began her public accounting career with the national accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, LLP, working from their Pittsburgh office and obtained her CPA license in 1999. Kim subsequently relocated back to her hometown of Johnstown to continue her public accounting career with the firm of Dennis P. Kotzan, CPA. On July 1, 2008, Kim was promoted to Shareholder in the newly incorporated firm of Kotzan CPA & Associates, P.C.


Kim has developed extensive experience in accounting and auditing as well as individual taxation. However, she specializes in government and not-for-profit accounting and auditing, earning the designation of Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) in September 2007.


KIM IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF:

Central Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA); the Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA); the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); and the Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association. Kim was recognized in the PICPA’s 40 Under 40 Program; PICPA Members to Watch of 2012.
