BRENDA A. PAWLOWSKI, CPA, CFE
Born, raised and still a resident of Northern Cambria County, Brenda Pawlowski graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and a minor in Mathematics. She began her career with a local public accounting firm in downtown Johnstown in 1991, and subsequently joined the firm of Dennis P. Kotzan, CPA in 1995. She developed extensive experience in government and non-profit accounting and auditing, as well as individual taxation. Brenda remained with the firm for 8 years before departing for the healthcare industry. She served as the Finance Director for a local healthcare organization for 4 1/2 years. Brenda returned to public accounting and to the firm of Dennis Kotzan, CPA in October 2007, adding her knowledge of physician practices to her previous public accounting experience. On July 1, 2008, Brenda became a shareholder of the firm Kotzan CPA & Associates, P.C.
BRENDA IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF:
The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and is a former member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA). She is a past president of the Central Chapter of the PICPA and currently serves as a member of the executive committee of the Central Chapter. She is also a member of the Local Government Accounting and Auditing Committee, which includes the School District Sub-committee. She has previously been a speaker at the annual School District Conference.
BRENDA HAS BEEN AWARDED:
The Central Chapter’s Volunteer Service Award and has been recognized in the PICPA’s 40 Under 40 Program, as well as one of Pennsylvania Business Central’s Foremost Under 40 and Top 100 People of 2008.
